2009 Season Crop Activity Update

Packout volume continues to drop, especially for nectarines as the last varieties are almost finished.  Peaches will continue throughout the month of October. Plums will finish in early October. Currently they are just a little short of their estimate for the season.  Temperatures will be in the upper 90´s this period, with potential for breaking the century mark in the next few days.

Peaches

Autumn Flame continues as the dominant variety this week. It will hit its estimate later this week. Sweet September continues to be available, but will come up short of its estimate.  A few Summerwhite® varieties continue to be available in small quantities

Nectarines

September Red will continue to be the dominant variety this week.  September Bright will finish this week and will go slightly over its estimate. Among Summerwhite® varieties, Arctic Mist will continue to be the dominant variety this period. It is slightly over its estimate.

Plums

September Yummy® will be the dominant variety early in the week, and then Autumn Beaut will take the lead. Flavor Fall continues to be available.
