Crop Update

 

The packout has finally picked up. This period temperatures will start in the mid 80s and gradually rise to the mid 90s by this weekend. These temperatures are ideal for bringing on maturity and sugar.

 

Peaches

The top producing traditional peach this period Spring Flame 21 will be half way to its estimate early this period. Sister variety Spring Flame 22 just started harvest. Both these high blush peaches peak in the 50-56 sizes. Spring Snow variety will be the major Summerwhite® producer again this period. Small quantities of the second peento or saucer type peach of the season Sauzee Queen will continue through this period.

 

Nectarine

The top producing traditional nectarine this period Zee Fire could exceed its estimate by 10%. Harvest of Red Roy and the fairly new variety Rose Bright will pick up this period. Polar Light Summerwhite® nectarine harvest will continue through this period.

 

Plums

Flavorosa will be the major plum variety this period with Red Beaut and Spring Flavor plum varieties being packed in smaller amounts. The Earliqueen variety has just started its harvest.
